Re: Jupiter Moon Transit With Shadow Tonight At 9:00pm
Enjoyed it with my 120mm f/ 8 refractor at 120 magnification using my zoom eyepiece. Observing Io at the very edge of the planet with it's shadow still in transit was spectacular. Next time I will take out the 150mm f/ 8 Yard Canon for Ganymede's transit October 18th. With the hope of being able to pump up the magnification.

You could have taken both 120mm and 150mm scopes out, or did you get reed of the Skytee2 mount?Refractordude wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 3:13 am Enjoyed it with my 120mm f/8 refractor at 120 magnification using my zoom eyepiece. Re: Jupiter Moon Transit With Shadow Tonight At 9:00pm
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=18809 I still have the SkyTee-II. Yes I could have used the 150mm also. However, it is my dream scope so I keep it inside. Just did not feel like taking it out and setting up the SkyTee-II. The 120mm is already mounted in the shed and ready to go. I think it's quick setup as spoiled me. I loved the transit so much that the 150mm will now be used for all Jupiter Moon transits.Bigzmey wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:41 pmYou could have taken both 120mm and 150mm scopes out, or did you get reed of the Skytee2 mount?Refractordude wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 3:13 am Enjoyed it with my 120mm f/8 refractor at 120 magnification using my zoom eyepiece.
