Geostationary satellites in Orion.

#1

Post by AstroBee »

I was recently discussing astro imaging with a buddy and he was complaining about all the "StarLink" satellites in his Orion nebula images. He was complaining about every exposure have a small streak in them. I had to inform him that those were NOT StarLink satellites and proved it by making this short video for him to look at. Yes, StarLink will eventually be a problem but I think the good will outweigh the bad. I don't really want to turn this into a "Is StarLink good or bad" discussion but rather share how the stuff that's up there already is a big problem too for astro imagers.
