I have an assortment of wide angle Vixens, Orions, etc. but I'm wondering if there are possibly "better" EPs for lunar with a 90mm Mak.
For grins I tried a 40-year old University Optics Plossl 12mm this morning and was pretty happy with the sharpness and eye relief wasn't bad.
Suggestions?
(Maybe this should be in the EP forum?)

Thats up to you realy, do you want to see the Whole in the EP or max the mag of your scope. The best EP is what you have on hand, other then that I found the ES are the best for the buck all round company.
I enjoy using Plossl and older Orthoscopic designs for lunar, minimal glass to prevent ghosting and minimal light scatter.
Herschel, Tolles, Hasting Triplets, pseudo- Masuyama and Abbe Orthoscopics deliver some of the best views but AFOV go between 5° up to 44°
The Fujiyama Orthoscopics are good as well as the Takahashi LE.
Some like the Baader Orthoscopics as well.

I am intrigued by your University Optics Plossl 12mm EP. Can you post a pic of it?
UO is known for good quality EPs. Chances are you already got good sharpness. Premium Ortho may improve on it but not by much.
If you have funds you may want to invest in a good wide angle EP. I love 'flying over the Moon' experience provided by wide fields.
I would suggest Meade 5000 UWA 82 deg 14mm. In terms of performance to price (in particular buying used) it is hard to beat. It excels on Moon, planets and DSOs.

I have various plossls - I find they work well on the moon, of course - not as good on DSO's.
