Well at least it appears as if he might be a little back on track by returning to the fold of an objective scientific approach.
$1.75 M ain't much but hey it's a start. Just using results from the equipment we already have to propel his theories.
Scopes: 200mm f6 DOB:CR 6 150 mm f 7.5 refractor, SW ED 80 mm f 7.5. 2 X 80 mm f7.5 guides.
Mount: AVX.
NexGuide auto guider. Cameras 3 Ti and XS modded. I optron Skytracker.

I’ve no problem with spending little money on high risk high reward efforts.

IMO part of the UFO phenomenon is the unwillingness of too many people to admit that they have misunderstood or misinterpreted what they were seeing, some to the point of becoming hostile to the idea that they are the victims of well known perceptual errors. People would rather write a book than admit that they are wrong.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Me too. When I was 11 I saw some flashing lights that seemed to be making an irregular circle in the sky. I tried to explain it as a meteor shower and looked in available references for a known shower to no avail. I still think that's the most likely explanation.

Agreed. I’d think that governments would feel the need to be accountable to taxpayers.
