patterns from spiral galaxies hint universe may have structure

This has interesting implications for the idea that the universe is homogenous and isotropic as Noether's theorem would require. The big question is "is there a length scale on which homogeneity and isotropy is restored"?

hmmm....time to humiliate myself again (and besides, Fritz needs a good laugh)
perhaps, in vastly oversimplified terms, 'Dark Energy' is merely kinetic energy?

Re: patterns from spiral galaxies hint universe may have structure
Unfortunately that’s not going to work.
How different forms of energy scale with the expansion of the universe can be measured by the signal imprinted on the cosmic microwave background. Radiation scales like the inverse 4th power of the scale factor IIRC. Matter and kinetic energy as inverse 3rd. Dark energy doesn’t scale or if you want scales as 0th power.
