I saw the images on Facebook last night, I'd rather like to have that telescope but, unfortunately, my cupboard is too small !

At the last RTMC I watched a presentation by someone from the Big Bear Solar Observatory. That telescope has been operational for a decade and produced images with a similar level of detail as the Inouye, for instance http://www.bbso.njit.edu/scinews/fig1_avi_nov2012.png .
Check it out at http://www.bbso.njit.edu/ . The home page's mid section can be scrolled, it has amazing images and video too, for instance http://www.bbso.njit.edu/scinews/har100_jj_2.gif . They are both NSF telescopes. Adaptive optics plays a big role.
