MA have three good uses, dust plugs, cushioning under heavy mallets strikes or used in batting practice.

A well made Kellner is good "minimum glass" eyepiece design. MAs are generally nominally of Kellner design but so badly made..... "The name is changed to protect the guilty."

Hmmm. The Quark has a very narrow FOV. I've only used mine along with my Celestron NexStar GT mount. Solar tracking keeps the image in the eyepiece. I'm not sure, but I'd be afraid that almost constant manual tracking might be necessary with any manual mount.

A decent fluid panhead can be operated accurately enough by hand or slo-motion controls.
It may take a bit of practice to start but can be done.
