Post by p1taylor »

At present my set up is dep sky but need to convert to Solar, with one scope solar and the other Ha and computer controlled as both are now, the Meade RCX200 10" positions the set up both have remote focusers is it possible to convert the William Optics ZS80IIED to Ha with a Lunt pressure tuner and blocking filter in a tube not a 90 degree, my CCD are starlight xpress H9C and LOADSTAR, image is my set up.

I looked online all of the lunt add on solar filter blocks all say they are only compatible with Lunt products. In looking at price, I would think one would be better off focusing on dedicated solar scope something like the
LUNT ls50THa/B600 or 400B Link

These are actually priced fairly well. I have actually used the Lunt 60mm scopes and actually love them, think these are my favorite solar scopes by far.Link

Very nice setup, Peter.

If it were me, I'd put a Quark-Chromosphere on the back end to handle the Ha duties. At f/6.8 , the William Optics ZS80IIED will provide a nice FOV for proms and surfaces alike.:)
