I can't believe it's been 4 years since the eclipse.

I don't do AP, but I did capture the event with my cellphone and Orion ST80.

Yup, 4 years, seems like yesterday!! I think back and remember scanning the farm field adjacent and seeing the cows laying down and the sheep bunched up. And the blinding vivid hot pink of the chromosphere at third contact.

Steve
Scopes; Meade 16 LX200, AT80LE, plus bunch just sitting around gathering dust
Cameras; Atik 460ex mono, Zwo ASI1600MC-cool, QHY5L-II color and mono

I drove about an hour south into SC for totality, along with a few club members.

There where many prayers that day in that park to keep the clouds at bay. Ten minutes after it was all over the clouds advanced.

Nice shots Jeff! Funny you should post this; I was going through some old pictures earlier this week and came across the ones I took and thought, Wow, almost 4 years... We were still on AF back then!

I too took some pics with my then new Baader solar film. We won't discuss or post those results

Thanks for the memories; can't wait for August 8, 2024!

All the best,
Mark

"The Hankmeister" Celestron 8SE, orange tube Vixen made C80, CG4 & AZ-EQ5 mounts.
