Nice, on the eastern limb.
Sorry, I'm just a visual guy :(
But it's worth checking out :)

That's ok keep teasing , it is a good way to motivate those of us who do image !
Now that you have had some viewing time how does the view compare to the images you have seen ?

Well, obviously no where near what you get with imaging.

But that's fine with me 😊 That prom was awesome, I saw more details than I thought was possible with a 40mm scope.

I was using the supplied 18mm Plossl.
If it's clear tomorrow and the wind is not blowing all that nasty pollen around, I plan on trying other EPs.

BTW, I have the scope mounted on an Orion Paragon HD photo tripod. It's nice and stable 😊
Clear Skies,

My most used eyepiece with the PST was a Vixen LV 10mm, very contrasty when viewing the surface and proms as well. It also barlowed well.

Me, too. I am a visual observer. Under Telescopes, you can find my post about my new APO. I also got Sun Catchers for my telescopes. I plan to do some solar observing. I do not know what to expect. I understand that I can probably see sunspots and prominensces. The othe features will require H-alpha or other filters and that means a different (and more expensive) telescope. I am just not up to bearing the expense and perhaps more to the point taking in more "stuff" at my age.

But the Sun is our closest star and it is a very average specimen. It makes sense to give it some attention.
