Nice prom today
Nice, on the eastern limb.

Well, obviously no where near what you get with imaging.Solsearcher wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:59 amThat's ok keep teasing , it is a good way to motivate those of us who do image !

But that's fine with me That prom was awesome, I saw more details than I thought was possible with a 40mm scope.
I was using the supplied 18mm Plossl.
If it's clear tomorrow and the wind is not blowing all that nasty pollen around, I plan on trying other EPs.
BTW, I have the scope mounted on an Orion Paragon HD photo tripod. It's nice and stable

Re: Nice prom today
My most used eyepiece with the PST was a Vixen LV 10mm, very contrasty when viewing the surface and proms as well. It also barlowed well.

Me, too. I am a visual observer. Under Telescopes, you can find my post about my new
But the Sun is our closest star and it is a very average specimen. It makes sense to give it some attention.
