Telescope beautifully setup and balanced with 1 1/2 inch WL herscel and camera. Take Images.

Multiple stages during a full session and you re-balance after each and every change don't you !? :observer:

Just call me Geoff....

I do what I do because I can, and because I want to.
It doesn't mean I know what I'm doing

Whatever floats your boat Geoff. I only ever rebalanced if it was obvious that I needed to. Bear in mind that I'm rough and ready

This is no secret and I am sure many do this . I will set up slightly imbalanced with the imbalance leaning against the direction of drive , this keeps any "backlash" snug . If I am too closely balanced even slight backlash can become visible in the live view . When I add the barlow's the drive motors work a bit harder but the gear train remains snug and live view is steady .
Solar scopes (Coronado Ha) 60mm double stack , 90mm double stack , 150mm single stack .
W/L scope Williams Optic Megrez 110mm / Lunt herschel wedge .
Night scope Celestron 9.25 XLT
Mounts HEQ6 , HEQ5 , Losmandy G8
