I was really hoping for some clear skies this weekend, but it did not happen. Well, at least it was not raining.
Wanted to test my new EdgeHD mechanically and optically. So, I set it up on our patio. I usually align finders on the top of the pine tree in the distance (shown by black arrow in the photo below).
To my surprise and delight I saw this little dude. Talk about timing! Could not resist to take a pic with my phone through the EP.
Optics is definitely sharper than my plain C8. Some focuser shift at high powers, but not too bad. If it gets annoying I will invest in add-on focuser.
The scope is rock solid on SW SkyTee2. Here it is riding together with SV102ED.
I am a happy camper. Ca't wait to take it to the desert for a spin.
That's a great image. I'm surprised the little guy stayed there long enough for you to get your phone out and get it over the eyepiece. If that were me he'd have been long gone.
Don't hesitate to consider the FeatherTouch Micro focuser. I have one on my C 11 and consider it a must-have upgrade.
Cheers,
JT

Searching the skies since 1966. "I never met a scope I didn't want to keep."
Hi Andrey. These are some great photos of your new gear. Upon a mouse click up on the pictures, only the first, second and fourth images rotate. However, this might be an aspect ratio issue, as these are all tall and vertical. Thanks for sharing these images of your new set up with us on here Andrey, and I hope that you can make it back out to Anza soon.

Great new scope Andrey! Thanks for sharing the first day-light with it. Nice picture of the bird, as well.
