I'm not trying to be critical but you'll want one to keep that in top condition unless you have onealready for your 8"

Mark, I think it is where a bolt was/can be threaded to immobilize the mirror for transport/shipping. New balancing issues always come with new gear.
The combine of the two focusers is quite interesting. The course focus on the new parts is actually quite a reduction from the factory focus knob on the tube and when I use the micro knob on the new parts the precision is even greater it seems.
