The ISS

I caught the ISS again tonight. This time I used a different technique. I used a Celestron 8se with a ZWO Asi120mc camera shooting 31fps. I hand held the OTA like a rocket launcher and tried to keep the ISS centered in my Telrad. Hitting the target is quite a challenge but you really only need one good frame. I shot 2900 frames and had about 45 hits. Quite a few were decent. This is probably the best one. I have another that is maybe a little clearer but it’s a weird angle and I prefer this angle. This image only had some minor adjustments and some cropping. It’s a rough draft, however I may not be able to make it any better.

Next time I will have somebody make a video. I wouldn’t mind seeing it either. I guess it depends how dark it actually is. This pass it was still a little light out so a video was possible. It crossed my mind to make a video but my girlfriend was tending to our 14 month old son and was busy at that time. It looks like the next pm high degree pass isn’t until May 17th so I have time to decide if I want to try hand holding my 9.25”... lol
