These is my first photos of Venus clouds. I tried to use a filters combinations, a violet w47 and ir cut BG40. The first tests are good, but i need a better seeing. Compared to dedicated UV filter these filter are less expensive, but give less performance on the contrast. Hello Michael. This is superb work from you and your C11 telescope. I also enjoyed your article on the astroandnature site. I have been working on my Italian for only 4 months now, so sometimes I have to try to transliterate a word into Portuguese or Spanish. It is well laid out and most informative.
And, I am glad that Dragonsfire (Neil) found your thread. I wasn't trying to discourage him the other day, but this is not easy work. Then this morning, I remembered an article in Sky & Telescope about ten years ago, about an Italian amateur who captured some markings on Venus. He was also using the lessor expensive Wratten #47 violet filter too. I looked for almost an hour but I couldn't find that issue. Hopefully, you can help Neil out on his Venus endeavor. Thanks for sharing your fine images with us on here Michael, and keep up the good work.
