Venus clouds

#1

Post by Michael Barbieri »

Hi guys

These is my first photos of Venus clouds. I tried to use a filters combinations, a violet w47 and ir cut BG40. The first tests are good, but i need a better seeing. Compared to dedicated UV filter these filter are less expensive, but give less performance on the contrast. Fore more technical data on the photos and filters i invite yuo to go on my blog :https://www.astroandnature.com/blog/pos ... -15-venus/.

Clear skies to all

Hello Michael. This is superb work from you and your C11 telescope. I also enjoyed your article on the astroandnature site. I have been working on my Italian for only 4 months now, so sometimes I have to try to transliterate a word into Portuguese or Spanish. It is well laid out and most informative.
And, I am glad that Dragonsfire (Neil) found your thread. I wasn't trying to discourage him the other day, but this is not easy work. Then this morning, I remembered an article in Sky & Telescope about ten years ago, about an Italian amateur who captured some markings on Venus. He was also using the lessor expensive Wratten #47 violet filter too. I looked for almost an hour but I couldn't find that issue. Hopefully, you can help Neil out on his Venus endeavor. Thanks for sharing your fine images with us on here Michael, and keep up the good work.
