Saturn on Fri. the 13th.

Had some decent seeing last night and got some good views of Saturn and Jupiter, and the full moon when it rose above the house.

The striking thing from last night was seeing what I think is the shadow of the planet against the ring -- if that sort of thing is possible to view. What do you think? What I am seeing is the dark line against the ring at the 4-5 o'clock position of the planet. I think you can see it a little easier in the slightly out of focus shot than in the better image.

Nice images and yes you can see the shadow of the planet being cast on the rings. Good observation :)
