Moon and Jupiter Conjunction Aug 9th

Post by TheButcher »

Nothing much but I thought it would be neat to get the moon and Jupiter in one frame to see the actual size difference. I did this on August 9th 2019 I think. Stacking was a little tricky for this since AS didnt recognize Jupiter. ANyway I think I converted it to an AVI file in PIPP and brought it into Adobe Premiere Pro to extract about 20 (I was lazy) of 1000 frames then used DSS with those frames. Broought it into PScc and made Jupiter a little bit brighter so you can see it. YOu can see the bands on it if you zoom in.

I took multiple exposures and different levels so I could get Jupiters Moons in there too but did not get around to it yet and combining it. Anyway Enjoy. I was surprised that they both fit in my FOV with the 294 MC P and and an 80ed at F6.25

Nice catch - I checked them both out that night with a couple of newbies. You captured it well!
