Jupiter and Saturn

#1

Post by jerrysykes »

Took these two on 8/9/19 a few hours after a thunder storm moved through. The sky was clear but the turbulence was bad.

Jupiter image is 20% of 11,000 frames and Saturn is 50% of 4000 frames. Out of 9 videos of Jupiter and 8 videos of Saturn these two seemed to be the best.

Tried something new on the Saturn video. I used a IR blocking filter for the first time with my ZWO 224 color camera.
All were taken using my 120mm refractor, ZWO 224 color camera and 3x barlow.

Took a look at both of these the same night you were out with a couple of astronomy newbies. Thanks for the validation that the GRS was visible that night! Great shots!
