Jupiter with an iPhone 13 - first ever photos with my new scope

#1

Post by Kagemusha »

It’s blurry, out of focus and looks more like a dust orb but it’s my very first pictures ever taken of a planet

It was taken from indoors and behind a window and I discovered the “live” function was turned on the phones camera too :(

A nice first step Kagemusha !

If you are not using a cellphone adapter I recommend getting one. It will allow you to control the camera to good results.

This is a fine adventure with your son.

I look forward to following your posts. 👍

Thanks! I was using the adaptor but my little guy was bouncing around the room and causing the scope shake lol…

I was also behind a dirty glass window too.

 don’t tell my wife that

It’s funny, I was just talking to a friend who is also interested in getting started about how 20 years ago, I’d want to spend $5,000 on a set of car rims…now I want ton spend that on astronomy gear.
