Close approach of the Moon and Venus

#1

Post by OzEclipse »

I had a friend visit last week. She's very keen on astrophotography but still learning. So I fitted one of my Pentax telephotos to her Canon 80D and walked her through taking some photos of the close approach of Venus and Selena. Then I processed the images for her. There are two exposures combined, one for the sunlit crescent, one for the Earthshine.

Details:
Exposure 1: Canon 80D ISO 400 1/4 s Pentax M 200mm f4 [Earthshine]
Exposure 2: Canon 80D ISO 400 1/15s Pentax M 200mm f4 [Sunlit crescent]

Hi Joe. A very nice Moon and Venus image. And a very nice composite to show the Earth shine too. I am glad that you had this opportunity to help her with the imaging and you did a superb job on the processing. Thanks for sharing this work with us Joe and keep up the great astrophotography tutoring.
