Saturn on Opposition night
Hey all,
I am so backed up in processing that I forgot about Saturn's Opposition. Anyway, it was taken with my AD12 strapped on to a Cem70. I used a ZWO174mm with a Telvue 2x "Big Barlow" with extension tubes to make it about 3x. It was Average seeing from what I recall and Saturn was at 28 Degrees. I used Sharpcap for capture (I am having issues with FC currently) and AS3/Registax/WinJupos/PIPP/PhotoshopCC. I explain how I did it on my site. The audience is geared to people that are not familiar with Telescopes and such but I do go into how I processed it in somewhat of detail.
Thanks for Looking

Thank you, very nice.
Which version of Registax do you use?
I have recently struggled to reproduce results that I could get years ago on the same source images.

Re: Saturn on Opposition night
Thanks all
Hi SparWeb, I use Registax6 but only use the Wavelets and the Denoise option. When I stack them in AS3, I use the unsharpened file, not the file that ends in "conv". I used to use the sharpened "Conv" file in Registax but found out that you get better results using the Denoise in Wavelets and moving the wavelets sliders accordingly until it looks good.

Hi Brian. A fantastic Saturn image from you. Excellent planetary color and belting. The ring system is well defined including the Cassini Division. Thanks for sharing this capture with us Brian, and keep up the great work.

Very beautiful image. Thanks for the post. I am glad you shared it. It has been so cloudy here for the past few months that this is a welcome sight.
