Jupter and Callisto and a red spot

#1

Post by salehram »

Hi all!

It's been a while for me. This COVID thing, and also a relocation for home, so now no more out the window images -_-

I have been enjoying sometime in the past 3-4 months with relatively open north, east, and southern sky! And it is AMAZING and I WAS MISSING A LOT!

So the wind were calm and the weather was too hot but the sky was clear so I thought yea it's the best time to go out sweating and capture some space images.

This is my first attempt on taking an image for Jupiter from the new location. And hopefully I can get it better soon with more fine tuning and color fixes as well.
Jupiter 2353-06082021-01-Final-Label.png
The capture settings were 150ms exposure, and 50 gain. I used my custom OnStep-modified CG4 mount for this which is still an awesome thing that I love.

I still have my little 4" and the same gear that I had before, it is just now an open sky instead of the little window space that I had.

Hope this is something good and I would love any feedback on this so that I can get things done better in the next times..
Al the best!

Hi Bigzmey, it is on the right side of the photo near the edge a little low.

The raw video got another moon captured, but it was far outside the dimensions that I intended to process this (800x800) so it did not show up in this image.

I still have more than one videos recorded. I went for 7 videos, each is 90 seconds so I can even make some sort of a short time lapse for GRS going out of the view as well!

Hi Salehram. You have a very nice Jupiter image with the XLT 102 telescope. Very nice details of the equatorial and temperate belting and the GRS shows up well too. And on magnification, I can make out Callisto. Thanks for sharing your fine capture with us on here Salehram, and congratulations on winning the TSS APOD Award today.
