A little Jupiter

#1

Post by Gmetric »

I thought I'd have another shot at Jupiter last night through absolutely terrible seeing conditions. I took a few different videos trying different settings in SharpCap and different Barlows. None of them are good, lol, wobbling around all over the place. Still, it was fun doing this in my front garden and with essentially a very cheap setup. So here is a tiny Jupiter shot at the native focal length of F11.1 on the achro and recorded at 480x480 (cropped to 324x324) with the ASI120MC. There may be a few more of these popping up once I get to processing the other videos. Your patience will be appreciated, lol.

Considering your viewing conditions were less than ideal, you seem to have still got a great image.

Well done :)

Thank you, fair maiden :) Yep, 37 deg C and 80% humidity make for awful conditions.

You managed to capture a nice range of colours in that image despite the conditions, very nice 👍

Hello Arry. A very nice Jupiter image considering the seeing conditions. You have very good details of the equatorial and temperate belting. Thanks for sharing this capture with us Arry, and keep up the great work.
