ISS Flyby on May 17th

#1

Post by TheButcher »

Hey All,

Here is the ISS I captured a couple of days ago. It was a Magnitude -4.5 at 8:40pm (It was still kind of light out). Max Alt 73 Degrees.
I used firecapture to take it. And this image was stacked in AS3 50% of 43 images. Then I went to Registax, then to PS to finish up.

Equipment:
AD12 12" Dob
2" Telvue Big Barlow extended out 2" for more Mag
ZWO 174mm
ZWO "Red" filter from an LRGB set.

FC settings:
ROI=1936x1216
ROI(Offset)=0x0
FPS (avg.)=159
Shutter=0.285ms
Gain=345 (86%)

Thanks for Looking :)

Thanks All :)

I got more but didn't process them yet, but from looking at the AVI I created from PIPP, I thought this would be a good one to try out. I think the 174mm caught around 1300 images of it. I then look for the ones that are in consecutive numbered order and group them as a stack.

I find the biggest help is having an illuminated RACI finder and of course the Telrad. And do practice movements with the Dob when you know the path it will take from Stellarium. And also make sure you don't trip on the wires as I have done a bunch of times in the past lol

Thanks Again All :)

Also, I made a short video of the transit from PIPP. I think it had about 2000 frames in it.

Here is the link since I can't figure out how to embed a youtube video on here.
