Mars & Uranus second try 05-11-20

#1

Post by buddsy »

A bit smokey from the fireworks night here in the UK but was keen to try out my new Barlow.

Seems to have made my images a bit bigger! :-)

Hoping the new UK lockdown will at least give me a little more scope time.

Yep, they sure work for me, nice touch of humour too. Now what does a reducer do? Oh no, I can't reach the controls anymore...
Cheers,

Tony.

Cheers friends!

Hi Peter I see you are from sunny Gorleston. My wife works in Gorleston. Ive often wondered about setting my scope up somewhere along the Acle Straight maybe on the old Stracey Arms pub car park or maybe a bit further from the road. Halvergate perhaps. Looks like it would be very dark out there!

My closest bit of darker sky starts at Panxworth. Norwich side of Acle. I need to find somewhere for the coming up great conjunction as I have a house going to be in my way!

One of the darkest skies I ever saw was around there whilst on a narrow boat in the 00s.

I have an old Lotus and theres nothing (other than playing with my scope) I love more than rasting out to Ranworth a little bit further past Panxworth to have a look at the broad and say hello to folks enjoying their holidays on the broads mooring at the Malsters PH.

Hi Buddsy.

At Brugh Castle there is a big public car park.
Is a nice dark site.
Do not think that I would go there for a session by myself though. It is a bit isolated.
Clear Skies.

Peter

Ex-East Anglian here (Cambridge), but my Dad was from Norwich (Ber Street). Still miss those big skies.
Cheers,

Tony.
