Big Mars RGB with 625mm and QHY5III178M 10 october 2020
Hello
new image of Mars this time in color. I used myRGB filter wheel which had been sitting in my cabinet for years. I installed a tiny motor and a remote control on it. The assembly was done with Astrosurface + AS3 and R6 software. The barlow 5 + filter wheel pushed the focal length to 17230mm instead of 13650mm.

The image is beyond the capabilities of most mortals... Simply incredible that you can manage to get anything at such a long focal length.
I was especially stuck by the two different halves of the planet ... not exactly north and south but, yes, like two different hemispheres. One with rugged features and a small ice cap, the other with much smoother features and a large ice cap.
