Very nice Saturn Yobbo, how easy to use is Winjupos? I’ve looked at it but not taken the plunge. The Hex storm does stand out more.
for some reason, i just sometimes don't do well watching video tutorials, i learned from this instruction someone typed out online ..
https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/astr ... ry-images/
the only thing i had to put in was my lat and long , all the info is auto loaded into winjupos from the fits/tiff header file from capture, you'll have to use fire capture to get this data of the planets rotation .. the info even stayed after relabeling the files and also after i
rgb combined the mono frames .
my proccess was , drag all 36 videos into autostakkert ,( it does batch work) ,use one reference frame for all 36 videos, stack, find the output of the 36 images, then drop 3 frames at a time into pix insight and
rgb combined them,
then i save as tiff with the name as the same as the green channel for eatch
rgb set ,which is the date and time because green channel should be the reference point in derotation, you don't have to do this but it helps to locate things later, the info is alread in the fits header..
i do this 12 times in pix insight ..
after all the images are
rgb alighned i drop them into registacks 1 by 1 and use a preset sharpening setting then re save them again as a tiff file, the work flow is just drag drop, click do all, save and then repeat .. pretty simple .
now i have my sharpend images ( i only slightly sharpen them and re process the final image after) then i load up winjupos, followed the tutorial i linked, which basically consist of clicking on the image measurement tool ,opening a image that you have sharpend then putting in your lat and long , the data sheet automaticly fills out ie the exact date and time from the header used from fire capture . then i use the adjustment tool to put the outline over the planet ,flip the image if need be ectt. once done for the first one the outline location pretty much set for all 12 frames.
then saved the measurment details to a folder, then i open another image, save, then another and just hit save until all 12 are done .
then go to the derotaion image option and open the 12 saved image measurement files and just click compile ..save the compiled image then drop it back in your processing program to futher edit and done !
