that's a dim target to find in the view finder,imaging it is pretty hard, 500 gain and 100ms exposure ...

It looks good to me, and there is some color in there. That's more than I've ever gotten with Uranus.

I was thinking of getting an ir for my 290mm with the C11. Any suggestions that are friendly on the wallet?

I can't comment on what ir filter to buy, I have a few and havn't tried them all yet. The 642 BP by astronomik is a nice all round filter hence its in my 5 slot with my rgb and w#47. The loss of detail from Red channel to 642( red&ir) is only a slight ammount with my 12". I use this filter on the moon aswell. Going deeper with the 742 or 807 should give more. Contrast but loss of detail,i purchased these filters for the other planets with alot of cloud, venus ectt.

I can't remember what filters you need to get the most out. Of venus, I think it's the 807 and the u-venus filter but it's really expensive.. Apparently you can stack the wratten 47 with another filter to get simular pass through as a u-venus filter..

I'll see if I can find the link with all the different filter results someone has made with these filters

You need BG39 and a wratten 47 for a cheap uvenus filter

I think I am gonna check it out and get it. I already have a #47 I bought when I got my ADC.
