Hi there

Here is a painting I did of Jupiter through imagination to what I know Jupiter to look like I used Acrylic paint on a big sketch book I hope you like it and thanks for looking

Actually, you should do that in oils or acrylics on canvas now as it is a wonderfully beautiful rendering! Add the 4 moons to it and put it on a light-medium blue background that best goes with the orange/reds in your rendition (i.e., same hue as the blue zone in your sketch but darker register) and it would be simply stunning hanging on the wall!

Sketches like what you have done, that take liberties with the reality but are also based on your experiences with the actual object are so much better than the more realistic ones IMO because renderings like yours here capture the emotions you have regarding that object (i.e., observing Jupiter). When I initially saw your sketch here I actually felt that it really captured the planet as it conveyed all the emotional excitement of the observations I have had and I said to myself, "Now that is the real Jupiter!". Outstanding work!!

I have always enjoyed sketching planets and Messier objects although I’m not very good at it. I absolutely love your painting of Jupiter. The colors are awesome! I’m hoping your next painting will be Saturn! Thanks for sharing Rhoda!
