Mercury Transit UK

#1

Post by Graeme1858 »

Here's mine. I set up with the Canon 600D and missed the beginning of the transit because the point of contact was out of the frame! Once centered I changed to the Altair GP290C and grabbed some pngs between the clouds. Then captured some fits files and ser video files. I put an eye piece in before packing up to see the real thing.

North Kent was quite lucky to get anything with the amount of cloud about and the image quality might have been better if the wind had not been so high. But well pleased to have seen it and captured an image.

Altair GP290C with a 0.5 reducer
Captured with SharpCap
Colour Space=RGB24 saved as a png

Got to go and play with the fits and sers now!

Regards

Graeme

This is about the best I can get:

Mercury Transit - 02.PNG

This is where the transit started and the reason I missed it because I was centered on the Sun. Must learn the orientation of my cameras for future imaging!

Mercury Transit - 01.PNG

I quite like this one as it's quite moody!

Mercury Transit - Clouds.PNG

Cheers

Regards

Graeme
