The Sun November 28, 2021

Post by gcisko »

I generally don't image the sun in the late fall or winter as the sun is too low in the sky. But here is something from last Sunday 11/28/2021. I never did check to see what Active Regions these may be. So any information or help is appreciated!

The first image is an over all image of the upper right quadrant (I always seem to get east/west quadrant mixed up!), while the other image is a bit of a crop of the active regions and prom.

Clicking on the images or links will get a higher resolution on Flickr.com.

Hi Greg, nice pics! I hear you on the Sun being to low; even if it's out (not much lately) it's setting or set by the time I get in

As for what those spots are number-wise, you can go to Spaceweather.com and on the right top you'll see archives; they go back to 2001. I think they're AR's 2898-2900. I'll let you check that though...

Again, very nicely done and all the best,
Mark

I think you were right, it is most likely Active Regions AR2989-2900. Thanks!
