It was a really tough day, very unstable air especially with my 120ED, should have changed to the 100

That brings up an interesting question in my feeble mind. If I'm not mistaken, the 120ED has a focal ratio of f/7.5, whereas the 100ED is f/9. I have a 100ED and an 80ED. The 80ED also has a focal ratio of f/7.5. On a tough day, my 80ED will give better results that the 100ED.

Your thoughts?

my 102ED is a Lunt and it is f/7.5, my SW 120ED is 7.5 and my Stellarvue is I think f/6

I think it is not so much the F ratio but the aperature, 80 will be less affected by bad seeing than a 100 or a 120
I might not always be right but I am never wrong, once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken...
