AR2860 returned today as AR2871

#1

Post by Thefatkitty »

Hi all, again... Second post here today, and my last day of vacation.

I've had clear days all week with no activity in white-light on the Sun since Monday, my first day off. Clear days and a bland disc. My nights? Not good; a lot of cloudy skies. Go figure. I was so looking forward to a week of Solar activity, not to mention night time....

So if you've suffered the same, blame me for my vacation

Ol' Sol knows I'm back at work tomorrow, and my weather forecast calls for rain most of the week. Yeah, you go throw me a tease...

After almost a week of inactivity for white-light, the Sun rotated around old AR2860, now renamed as AR2871, and there looks to be a new spot forthcoming:

I started this post at 7PM, Sarah and I got to talking, and now it's just after 10. Tomorrow comes early; have a good night all :D

You have a good night too my friend!

Sorry that your vacation didn’t have better skies or a more active sol.

No fosters recently because my time is somewhat occupied by a new grandson (first).
I’ll get back to it one day because it is great helping
pups. By the way, Jack says hi. Take care buddy!

See, there's the problem. I was on vacation too! I think we both collectively trashed the sky!

Nice white light images, Mark! Been way too windy here during the day for any solar effort on my part. Of course, I'm not really any good at it. I'd much rather enjoy yours. :)

Rain here tomorrow as well, but we can use some. Things are getting rather brown. But, 22° temps and the first day of autumn. Gotta love that. :)

Thanks for the comments Jim; yeah, my vacation was all in my timing

A new grandson?! I'm so happy for you, congratulations!

Hi to Jack as well as to you and yours. New grandson, forthcoming pups.... Way to stay young! :D

All the best my friend,

From Arkansas to Ontario, I think we did a really good job!

Thanks for the compliments, and I could imagine the wind where you are! I don't have that open field effect.

Yeah, been a hot suumer here too, and now it's been cooler for a week. Autumn... It's nice to see Orion rising in my south-east sky when I head out at 5:30AM.

Nice to hear from you; all our best to you and yours :D

Hi Mark. I am glad that you had a nice vacation although the skies weren't the best. Nothing but thunderstorms here for almost 2 weeks now. Forget the telescope and binoculars, I can't even enjoy a naked eye meteor shower or an ISS flyby. However, you came away with a nice solar image in white light. Enclosed is the latest solar map from Raben Systems:

I saw that this morning; thanks for the link too, great site! Of course, my skies were clouds/rain all day, especially when I got home

Hope you get some clear skies soon, and all the best to you and Sheri from us here :D
