AR2835 and friends

Hey everyone, hope all is well :D

It's been a hot and humid weekend here with temperatures at ~33C (100F) both days, and very windy. Saturday AM I went skateboarding with my daughter, and then we came home, had lunch, and all did our own thing in the air conditioned house.
I spent my time cleaning some crap out of the basement, and contemplating about starting a little project I've been thinking about for probably over half a year :D

IMG_1234-s.JPG

I did that today; it was really hot under the welding helmet, but the fan helped.
It will also involve spoons and forks, and mayhaps part of a 60mm refractor tube...

As I was sweating it outside today, I did keep an eye to the sky. This was a shot at 1PM. There were some sucker-holes in all this, but even that was just blue haze. However, always hopeful :D

At about 5PM, the blue spots in the sky seemed less hazy. I brought out my C80-HD, Baader film and Canon EOS 550D set to 1/250th and ISO 100. I took a few opportunities; the first set of 15 turned out the best.

This was the Sun today according to Spaceweather.com, but there would seem to be a couple of new spots below AR2835...?

AR2835 is interesting; the two large spots to the top are both AR2835, but the left spot is the North (positive) pole, whereas the right one is the South (negative) pole of the same spot. Both spots are joined together, but it's not visible here as white light doesn't show what HA does.

I also put in all the planets from Mercury to Pluto (yes Pluto, you are a planet still to me) to scale. I checked that a few times, and it's right for the size of images I take with this scope.
The image of the planets I used in in the public domain; no copyright issues here :D

And that's it for me on this. I have rain forecasted until Wednesday; good times that. However, that's the forecast now and that can and hopefully will change :D

Have a good night/day and all the best,
Mark

Interesting, and good capture 👍
