Solar Eclipse 10th June, 2021, The Happening

Hello all,

the unexpected breaks between the clouds have been a good reason to look at the eclipse.

Finally, I took a WWI Galilean binoculars “jumelles militaire d'artillerie supérieur” from my gallery of historical optics, and fastened it with Velcro on a Cullmann tripod,
Jumelles.jpg

The other tube of the binoculars has been covered with a sock, to prevent the second interfering image of the Sun.

As I don’t have an iPad, I took myPad to see the projection of the Sun. (The myPad is a clip-lock pad for holding papers during my observing sessions.)

Then, I have been brewing coffee, and my wife has prepared some cookies (not biscuits) for our coffee break.

The most enjoyable view has been close to 12:30 local summer time, even if not total and not annular, but showing at least the Moon licking the bottom of the Sun,

We have had our fun,
