I am just getting started with Solar and picked up a Quark Chromo. So far I got everything I need right now, Except for the time lol But hopefully this weekend I can get out an image the sun.

Hi Jeff. A superb solar prominence image with the Lunt ED102. Nice prominence details and solar granularity. Thanks for sharing this capture with us Jeff, and keep up the great work.

I am just getting started with Solar and picked up a Quark Chromo. So far I got everything I need right now, Except for the time lol But hopefully this weekend I can get out an image the sun.

I use sharpcap for capture, I just got a Daystar Flat Cap to do flats but you can image without it. I shoot AVI's, 8 bit (many use 16 bit) but I haven't seen that much difference. I typically shoot 500 frames on proms and 1000 to 3000 on the surface depending on the air stability, I then stack the avi's in Autostakkert, I usually use the 50 frames or 100 frames. Then use wavelets in Registax 6 to sharpen a bit. then drop it into Photoshop CC to do levels etc and colorize. I also have started hitting them with Topaz AI Denoise.
