I've been tinkering with extreme gamma adjustments lately to show a little more depth with B/W images.:)

Time is right despite the low angle of the sun, Gordon.:) The southern half of the sun is starting to look like it did a couple of years ago... Plenty of activity.

I like the invert John , I agree the sun is looking good again . I hope you and others keep posting , winter is setting in up here so any imaging from me does not look promising right now .
Solar scopes (Coronado Ha) 60mm double stack , 90mm double stack , 150mm single stack .
W/L scope Williams Optic Megrez 110mm / Lunt herschel wedge .
Night scope Celestron 9.25 XLT
Mounts HEQ6 , HEQ5 , Losmandy G8

Thanks for the kind replies, everyone.:) Frankly, I'm amazed that so many folks liked it. :Astronomer1:

I started tinkering with that technique after reading an article by Mark Townley... one of the best solar imagers in the world. He's featured in this thread by member solsearcher (Mike) here: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=14969

(BTW: Mike (solsearcher) was my mentor's mentor several years ago... So we go back a while.:))

For those who might be interested, here's how you go about creating the depth in IMPPG...
