AR2777 Dives over the SW Limb

#1

Post by Lowjiber »

(This is not for everyone.)

We all remember AR2777... It popped up as it came around the SE Limb, and everyone thought "Oh Boy... The solar minimum is finally over!" Well, guess what? It died the death of a rag-doll-baby about half way across the surface.:(

While shooting other things yesterday (10/18/20), I noticed that the remnants of the dead sunspot were just about ready to disappear around the SW limb. So I shot it.:)

This is what we call a "Perspective Warp" that places the viewer's eye closer to the surface... Things get stretched slightly in the foreground. When one does a PW, it is best to put the warp vertical.

Captured with a Quark-C riding the back end of an 80mm ED scope.
Processed in Photoshop.

Thanks for the peek.:)
