AR2770 in white light
With some hope that the sun is going to get more active, I decided to have a look at the current sunspot AR2770.

Good job, Mate! Thanks for the share.
Right after your image was taken 2770 produced a C1.5-class solar flare. That tiny division in your image was a telltale sign that the magnetic field of the spot was becoming unstable... a prerequisite for a flare. (I'm not all that smart, but happened to be reading SpaceWeather this morning. )

Re: AR2770 in white light
I was reading something similar about sunspots "splitting" like this. Any idea how common it is for sunspots to split like this? It seems like this is not the first sunspot I have seen that has appeared to have a "split" running through it.

Re: AR2770 in white light
Hi MrShorty. According to the Raben Systems solar map, AR 2666 has disappeared, AR 2667 and AR 2668 are on the far side, and on the earth side AR 2669 is near the western limb. So you did a great job on the best current target AR 2770 with your image in white light. Thanks for sharing this capture with us on here MrShorty, and the best of regards.
