2765 is a sunspot. It is called AR-2765 (AR = Active Region). It is currently an Alpha class spot with an area of 58 million square miles. It gives you some perspective as to how big the Sun is. AR-2765 is a little larger than the earth if my calculations are correct.

Wow, today I learned! Thanks! I've always been interested in DSO photography and never really tried to image the Sun.

Hello Roger. A very nice active region AR12765 image in white light. And you got there just in time as AR12764 just moved to the far side the other day. Thanks for sharing these captures with us on here Roger, and keep up the great work.
