I could have stayed out last night for hours but the DSLR battery died and guess who forgot the charger. Rookie mistake #1
The skies here in SC are much clearer and less turbulent than back home in Ohio. I come here several times a year to help out my Mom and her husband with the work around their home and now they're wondering if I come just because of the dark skies, I told them that was just a bonus.
They really loved this picture of their home and the night sky.

I have been trying to find a home in SC to get out of the miserable winter weather back in Ohio but it's hard from 600 miles away. It's not an easy days drive like it used to be now that I am getting older.
Mom's health is failing and her husband isn't faring much better and it makes me feel useful.

Very nice. I especially like the shot of the house.
Do you happen to know what the Bortle rating is there?

nice images!, when someone mentions southern skies i assume they mean the southern hemisphere ie down under! ahah, i worked out you must mean south carolina ? The cool laminar air flow from the sea must help with the seeing, i've always question if being near the coastal area is better, it sure is alot more windier than being inland.

Thanks...
It was 600 miles south from my house in Ohio. Never been to the Southern Hemisphere.
