M31 in wide field view

I shot my first DSO image yesterday, but its *really* a skyscape shot with a 135 mm lens. I took 60 frames, stacked in Sequator. Processed with Lightroom cc.

60 frames
35 second exposure
ISO 800
Rokinon 135mm f2 lens - stepped to f2.8

Problems: I determined that my white balance was wrong - set too cool.. puts too much blue in the shot. (fixed after the fact)
Also I shot in Jpeg, should have shot in raw format. (fixed after)
Focus issues (figured it out - need to use live view and crank open the aperture and ISO)

Anyways, I put it up because its my first effort. This is not easy!!

Playing with colour balance (balancing red). (I'm tossing my hands in the air for the lack of good focus )

I think the halo in M31, and M110 itself are a bit better in this shot.

hang on, m31 is andromeda ?? , its so small in a 135mm lense, i thought this target was for dslr cameras/lenses , nice capture btw, i've never seen andromeda/imaged before.

it's not m 110 in the image ?

i zoomed in. i can see the spiral bands i also found m110 next to it ,i have some tips, the focus can be a little tighter and dithering could help with those rgb pixel streaks

Thanks Yobbo! M31 is tiny indeed in the 135mm. The focus needs a lot of help... I think I know how to fix.

So.... how does one attack dithering? I'm usually a pro at dithering, just not in the astrophotographic sense.

Does Lightroom or Photoshop work in this sense? (raw beginner over here )

so dithering consist of moving the telescope/camera a few pixels at a time to a different location in the sky. in doing so, the data where the dead pixels in the camera's fov will be replaced with usable pixels ,with many frames dithered an algorithm is done while stacking to remove the dead pixels (hot and cold pixels) in the image which data is written to them, so those red blue green streaks will disappear in your images, you'll need stacking software to process it out and autoguiding software to dither.

The way to compare it is if you have an eye floater or a smudge on your glasses using peripheral vision and then move your head slightly to another location, the smudge or eye floated doesn't cover the object you were looking at
