Murrumbidgee midnight madness
I went down to the Murrumbidgee river at midnight last night scouting locations for an activity I'm running next weekend for the Photography Art Centre which I've called Murrumbidgee midnight madness. Captured this picture as the milky way set and fog started to rise off the river. This location is not far from Mount Stromlo and about 15km as the crow flies from Canberra city centre. Consequently skies are more light polluted than my usual spots. There was also a last quarter moon low in the east lighting the ridge and the sky. I used a flashlight to illuminate the river, fog and foreground.

Thanks Mark & Jim.Thefatkitty wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 2:04 am That's almost surreal; great picture Joe! And best of luck at the Photography Art Centre
The surreal thing is, I think, a psychological effect when we see a picture of a place we don't know, nor how it was taken. I have experienced this many times when looking at other peoples photos yet it only happens occasionally for me when reviewing my own photos.
I was at an exhibition opening on Thursday night and the director told me that the Murrumbidgee Madness event is almost booked out so looks like it is going ahead.
