Harvest Startrails in Illinois

An October nightscape facing southwest in west central Illinois. Here are the specs:

Camera: Canon 6D, tripod: Manfroto; lens: Tamron 28-75 @ 50mm; ISO 3200; aperture: f/2.8; exposure 400 x 15sec

That is a lovely image, Rob. I have to ask though if it is facing southwest or southeast? The trails indicate southeast to me, unless the image is mirrored horizontally.

Haha, you are absolutely correct. I was thinking one thing and typed another without noticing it. I was actually shooting for Orionids. Orion was coming up in the east. When I hunt for meteors I usually shoot about 45 degrees from the radiant and 45 degrees up over the horizon. I usually set one camera up aiming just to the south and another just to the north. This was a few days late so I knew it would be a long shot for capturing a meteor, but it made for good star trails. Thanks for catching that.
