Back at it!

Hunting down aurora as the sun's activity in ejection of material also increases.

This image was done in a rush as the moon had not set. I was going to wait until later, but the aurora were going full blast. I managed to polar align and get a few images.

Thanks for looking.

Sept 23, 2020 - 25 sec - Canon 60D - Black Island @ 52N, 11;15 pm, ISO 800, Rokinon 10mm, f2.8

So beautiful, it must be wonderful to live in a location where you can see this.

Went to Iceland back in 2013 and managed to see the aurora on 2 nights, but to see it in a regular basis must be awesome.

That's one of those images you can stare at for ages! And only 52°N. It would be great if magnetic north could slip this way a bit!

Hi Ian. This is a fantastic multicolored aurora image. And you caught a great foreground in your capture as well. When we lived in Illinois, the only color that I ever saw was the celery green. Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo Ian, and congratulations on winning the TSS APOS Award today.

I didn't realize that the aurora could produce such a vivid yellow color. (Not that I've seen many image of the phenomenon...).
