Actually it is an old road that was traveled by Abe Lincoln, unpaved back then. :-)
It was the main road between Danville and Champaign Ill back in the day...before US Rt 74 was built...when I was a kid. It is still well travelled by the locals. I was on my way home when I pulled off to shoot this picture.
I used to carry my camera every day, but lately not so much.
Sometimes Illinois puts up some nice Sunsets.

This does appear like it would be good for observing. Unfortunately the light dome from Champaign/Urbana, about 30 miles west, blooms abundantly unless I have a very very clear atmosphere. I do observe from about a mile from here but my best view is of the south 180 degrees. In 2017 I had the best skies thus far with very clear atmospherics. Lately this has not been the case.
