Milky way over Hood River testing new lens

#1

Post by Caddman »

I tried out my new Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 UMC lens on the Milky Way.
I stacked 10 images at 10 sec. using a static tripod.
f/4
D800 at ISO 800.
This was a test run. I thought that it came out quite well. There is no coma and the stars are round all the way to the corners.
I'm pretty sure that I will keep this lens. It will be interesting to see what kind of panoramas it can produce.

Thanks.
I believe that is a spot light emanating from the Columbia Gorge Hotel. Usually there are two lights shooting up. One must be out.

I climber Mt. Hood in 1980. I took the South route. The last ice climb to the top was a fun one.
