Milky Way
Camera Pentax K5 [APS-C] ISO 1600
7 x 120s tracked. 7 images median stacked with Pentax 10-17mm f3.5 full frame fisheye zoom at 11mm f3.5
Interesting, the straight image from this lens is quite good corner to corner. However, when the profile correction is applied in Lightroom, the image shows a lot of blur and coma on the upper right of frame, so I never apply profile corrections to images from this lens.
Coverage:- Approx 130 degrees of Milky Way from Vela to Serpens Cauda
Foreground
Foreground exposed separately 30s on fixed tripod ISO 3200 Samyang 14mm f2.8 Pentax K1
Enjoy
Joe

It's so amazing to me to see the central core (Sag and Scorpio) at the top of the image instead of at the bottom.
Thanks for sharing this amazing image.
Nicely done,
JT
Hi JayTee,
Thank you.
M7 has a DEC of 35 S. I observe at sites with latitudes between 34.5 S to -35 S. At this time of year, M7 is perched at the zenith at midnight. Not obvious in the photo due to the fisheye distortion.
At around 1 am, I was standing out there just looking straight up and seeing a bright belt of Milky Way stretching from Carina on the SW horizon through the core at the zenith to Cygnus on the NW horizon. It was a beautifully clear transparent night and so the Milky Way was visible right down to both horizons.
cheers
Joe
