Well, time for my monthly clear skies during the bright Moon period. When the Moon ramps up just enough, the lunar wind blows the clouds off.

Cool and quite breezy out tonight. I'd decided I wouldn't bother, but then I changed my mind. I configured the SV102T for lunar imaging and set it out on the back porch to begin acclimating. Meanwhile, I set out the AVX and my table/chair, got my cabling connected.

After I saddled the scope onto the mount, I returned to the back porch to get the scope. When I got there, I was a bit befuddled because my scope was missing. "Where the hell did my scope go?"

Turning around, I realized that I'd just saddled it onto the mount. I'm losing my freakin' mind.

Anyway, using my ASI174MC and a 2× Synta barlow, I ran off 6×1000-frame SER files then packed up my stuff. The wind was blowing from the north and wasn't especially enjoyable. Seeing conditions were rather turbulent.

Moon was so bright out there I could read my iPhone!

Once back inside, I cranked my data through Autostakkert!, Registax, and MS ICE. I think my focus was a tad soft. I bumped up my wavelets a few nudges in Registax. The seeing conditions made it a little tough to get a snap on the focus.

Last time out, I used the C6-R on the AVX. Well, the focuser on that scope has a load of Synta Tree Sap plastered on it, and this evening I discovered I had got some on the AVX. Took me a bit to get it on my hands after I was done this evening. That stuff reminds me of climbing a pine tree when I was a kid.

Stunning! You did it again, Brian. Also the luminance, contrast range and tonal values are probably pretty dern close to the actual albedo of Luna.

Great stuff Bryan. I was at it again a couple of days with the phone and managed a couple of decent captures (well for a phone). I'm close to pulling the trigger on a ZWO monochrome so I can get in the game. One of these days I guess.
